Celebrate National Garlic Day with Côte Brasserie

National Garlic Day, a day to celebrate that wonderful and delicious bulb, is fast approaching! At Côte Brasserie, we are inspired by incredible French cooking every day and, of course, there is no country in the world that has a strong affinity with this pungent seasoning quite like France’s!

To mark National Garlic Day on the Wednesday 19th April, we’ve put together a list of our favourite garlic-infused dishes from our French inspired menu.

Fougasse

This traditional appetiser is extremely popular all over France. A fougasse is a flat, leaf-shaped bread, which is often with seasoned with herbs such as rosemary and sage, and can be sprinkled with a nutty Gruyère cheese.

Our fougasse is covered in garlic and then topped with fresh parsley and a sprinkling of sea salt. It’s a garlic lover’s dream!

Calamari

Want to indulge in a taste of the ocean? Our calamari will hit the spot! Our squid is coated in light breadcrumbs, then quickly sautéed with garlic, lemon and parsley. Enjoy dipping each bite in our homemade tartare sauce.

Prawn Gratinée

Continue your culinary quest for seaside perfection with our prawn gratinée. We source only the freshest and juiciest king prawns for this dish, whilst our chefs cook up a garlic-infused tomato sauce with white wine and chilli and topped with crushed parsley and croutons, which makes for the ultimate accompaniment.

Steak with Garlic Butter

A well-cooked steak is a staple for any French restaurant. You can choose from rib-eye, sirloin and fillet steaks, and each steak we serve up is 30 day aged, from grain fed cattle and grilled to your liking.

Although we offer a choice of sauces, our favourite is the simple yet satisfying Normandy garlic butter with lemon and parsley. You can’t go wrong with this French classic and it’s great for soaking up with your leftover frites!
